Our Incident Controller Training is designed for key personnel who may be required to take control of the site and employees during an emergency in the workplace. This training equips participants with the knowledge, confidence, and leadership skills needed to coordinate an effective response to incidents such as fires, chemical spills, evacuations, or other critical situations.
Practical Situations
Our training incorporates table-top scenario exercises, allowing participants to talk through emergency situations and practise decision-making in a calm, structured environment. It’s a practical way to build coordination and confidence.

Before an Incident
- Legal duties and responsibilities
- Emergency plans, risk assessments, and site information
- Emergency boxes / grab packs and essential records
- Staff roles, training, drills, and preparedness
The Incident Controller Role
- Command, control, and communication

Scenario-Based Table-Top Exercises
Once the course content has been completed, delegates participate in table-top exercises that explore realistic incident scenarios, focusing on command, control, and coordination in a controlled learning environment.
Certification
Delegates receive a certificate of attendance confirming they have completed the training and gained an understanding of the principles of acting as an Incident Controller in their workplace.
